Description

“Every eBay member has a Feedback Profile, which includes basic information about the member and the Feedback that their trading partners have left for them. Learning to trust a member has a lot to do with what their past buyers or sellers have to say. For each transaction, buyers and sellers can rate each other by leaving Feedback. Each Feedback consists of a positive, negative, or neutral rating, and a short comment. A buyer can also rate the seller on additional criteria such as accuracy of item description, communication, delivery time, and postage and packaging charges.” (Source: eBay website)

Ebay’s feedback system was one of the first of its kind and still puts the bar very high. As a seller myself, I have been frustrated more than once with it. But overall, I think it’s done it’s job very well over the years (if you ignore the early problems). In the long run, the good ones seem to bubble up. And if you know how to handle it well, you should get no more than the odd irate customer.
